Structured cabling handover checklist
The records, labels and tests a cabling handover should contain.
A clean rack helps, but the handover must also show how every outlet, backbone and patching location was tested and recorded.
Physical record
Collect approved layouts, rack elevations and labelling conventions.
- Outlet and patch-panel schedules
- Backbone and riser routes
- Rack power and equipment clearances
- Spare capacity
Test record
Define the test standard and ensure failures, repairs and final results are traceable.
Operating record
Keep MAC procedures, administrator contacts and warranty documentation together.
